If so, please keep reading as you’re just what we’re looking for! The team… The Flood Risk Management team manages Gateshead Council’s role as lead local flood authority (LLFA). About the role…. You will lead the flood risk management (FRM) team of technicians and engineers in managing and promoting Gateshead Council’s LLFA roles & responsibilities. As such you will require relevant experience at an appropriate level of responsibility in a local authority FRM role. An accredited degree in a relevant subject is essential. You will have knowledge of civil engineering practise & procedures (in particular highway drainage, sustainable drainage systems, public sewerage and flood risk management), asset management computer systems and graphical information systems. Knowledge of statutory duties, responsibilities & powers in relation to highway drainage & FRM is also essential. You’ll be paid a competitive salary Grade L, £46,731 to £49,764 plus an additional temporary Recruitment & Retention Allowance 10%: £4,673.10 - £4,976.40. You will receive an annual leave entitlement starting at 28 days per year (pro-rata for part time employees) rising to 32, 2 of which may be fixed by the council at any time. You also have the chance to buy up to 10 additional holidays per year. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in the Council’s Flexi time scheme, subject to management approval and business needs, which could be up to 26 flexi days per year.
