Site Surveyor (Construction - Steel/Metal Fabrication)

About the role
We're hiring a Site Surveyor to deliver accurate site surveys for construction/metalwork projects across Ireland and occasionally overseas. You'll capture as-built conditions using 3D scanners, total stations and laser levels, validate against design/tender information, and hand over clean, qualified digital survey data to design and project teams.
What you'll do
Carry out precise site surveys using 3D scanners, total stations and laser levels, plus manual measurements and photographic records.
Compare as-built vs tender drawings/design intent and highlight variances.
Process and transfer 3D survey data in the required formats for the Design/Drawing team; complete QC checks before release.
Record and circulate critical site information to Project, Commercial & Technical teams.
Attend site meetings; act as the primary survey point of contact with contractors, design teams and client reps.
Plan and manage survey timelines to meet project schedules and budgets.
Work safely at all times and support compliance with ISO 9001, EN 1090 and site H&S requirements.
Track and liaise on survey expenses in line with company policy.What you'll need
3+ years' experience in a similar Site Surveyor/Engineering role.
Proven competence with total stations and similar surveying equipment.
Proficient with digital survey tools (e.g., Leica, Trimble, FARO).
AutoCAD and 3D modelling experience (essential).
Ability to read/create technical drawings; strong attention to detail.
Clear communicator and team player; able to work across multiple departments.
Strong IT skills for data handling, file management and internal systems.
Full driving licence and flexibility to travel domestically (and occasionally internationally) at short notice.Nice to have
Experience within structural steel/architectural metalwork environments.
Exposure to quality systems (ISO 9001) and CE/EN 1090 requirements.
Experience preparing concise survey reports and mark-ups for design/production.Why apply?
