As a Conventional Safety Lead, you’ll be a key part of our Health, Safety and Learning function, ensuring that our legal obligations under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 are met.
You’ll work closely with our construction partners, regulators, and internal teams to embed a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Your experience in a highly regulated industry will help shape a safer future for all involved in this landmark project.

At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility and recognize that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. Our priority is to ensure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated, no matter where you are.
We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment, championing equity, and supporting social mobility. We encourage applicants from minority backgrounds and those with diverse experiences to apply. Please inform us if you need reasonable adjustments during the application process.
We take pride in our dynamic and inclusive environment, where diverse backgrounds and experiences drive innovation and fresh thinking.
Because success is personal. It's your journey, powered by us.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be the go-to expert for ensuring our compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, specifically regarding the Client’s responsibilities. Your role will be pivotal in shaping and maintaining high standards of health and safety across the project, ensuring risks are managed effectively and proportionately.
You’ll lead audits, reviews, and assessments to identify best practices and areas for improvement, working closely with regulators and certification bodies. Your insights will help drive innovation and continuous improvement, ensuring safety, quality, cost, and schedule goals are met.
You’ll support incident investigations, manage office-related health and safety matters, and be a visible, proactive presence across the project. You’ll also promote wellbeing, maintain risk assessments, and embed a strong safety culture at all levels.
Who You Are
You have a solid foundation in occupational health and safety, holding a NEBOSH Diploma and membership with IOSH or EIT, ideally working towards Chartership. Your experience includes complex engineering or construction projects, and you are confident navigating their challenges.
You possess expert knowledge of the CDM Regulations 2015 and a deep understanding of health and safety practices in high-hazard industries.
Your communication skills are excellent—you can engage with diverse stakeholders and present data clearly and persuasively. You are comfortable working with regulators, analyzing safety data, and applying insights to improve safety outcomes. Your attention to detail and collaborative mindset make you a trusted safety champion across the organization.
