Machine Operator
Are you an experienced Machine Operator looking for a long term opportunity with the potential to secure a permanent position?
We are recruiting for a Machine Operator to join a well established manufacturing business in Baldock. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy production environment where you'll play an important role in the manufacturing process while developing your skills within a growing company.
The role would suit candidates with experience operating manufacturing machinery within engineering, fabrication, sheet metal or production environments.
The Role
As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring a range of manufacturing equipment, ensuring production runs efficiently whilst maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Working as part of the production team, you will follow job specifications, carry out quality checks and help ensure production targets are achieved. The role involves operating machinery such as guillotines, laser cutting equipment, grinders and CNC machinery, although training may be provided for the right candidate with relevant manufacturing experience.
Key Responsibilities

Operate manufacturing machinery safely and efficiently

Set up and adjust machines in line with production requirements

Monitor machine performance throughout production runs
*
Follow engineering drawings, job sheets and production instructions
*
Carry out quality inspections on finished products
*
Report faults, defects or production issues when identified
*
Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
*
Follow company health and safety procedures at all times
*
Support colleagues to ensure production targets and deadlines are achieved
What We're Looking For
*
Previous experience operating manufacturing or production machinery
*
Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering, fabrication or sheet metal environment
*
Experience using guillotine machines, laser cutting equipment, grinders or CNC machinery would be highly advantageous
*
Good attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
*
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
*
Reliable and dependable approach to work
Who Might Suit This Role?
This role could suit candidates currently working as a Machine Operator, CNC Operator, Production Operative, Manufacturing Operative, Laser Cutter Operator, Guillotine Operator, Grinder Operator, Fabrication Operative, Engineering Operative, Machine Setter or Production Technician. Working Hours
Monday to Thursday, 06:00 to 14:15, and Friday, 06:00 to 13:00.
This is a 40 hour paid week with a paid 30 minute break included within each shift.
