We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Young Person’s Resilience Worker to join our Hertfordshire Young People’s Service. This is a rewarding frontline role supporting young people affected by substance use and related vulnerabilities to reduce risk, build resilience, and achieve positive, sustainable outcomes. You will work directly with young people and their families, delivering high-quality, evidence-based interventions within a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency environment. The role requires a proactive, flexible approach, meeting young people where they are—both practically and emotionally. Requirements Full UK driving licence and access to a car (Essential). Experience working with young people in a supportive capacity. Knowledge of substance misuse, harm reduction, and safeguarding practices. Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team Where: This role will be based across Hertfordshire County Contract: Permanent Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours. About the role: Engage and build therapeutic relationships with young people experiencing substance use and associated challenges Deliver assessments, individual care plans, and structured psychosocial interventions Carry a caseload of young people providing 1:1 keywork, group work, harm reduction advice, and brief interventions Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns in line with local and statutory procedures Work closely with families, carers, and partner agencies including social care, education, health, and criminal justice services Support integrated care planning and access to education, training, or employment where appropriate Working with young people to support positive, holistic outcomes in relation to their health and wellbeing, enabling them to lead safe, healthy, and purposeful lives: reducing risk and increasing resilience Maintain accurate and timely records in line with information governance requirements Work flexibly across community settings, including homes, schools, and youth venues Please see the attached Job Description and role specifics for more detailed information about the role and responsibilities of this post. About you: Experience of working with young people and knowledge of the issues they face Knowledge of safeguarding concerns in relation to children and young people and the Fraser Competence framework Have an excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working within a related field Knowledge of working with evidence-based practice around young people’s substance misuse treatment services and methods, including relevant best practice guidance An accomplished communicator, both verbal and written with a high degree of personal IT competency Be able to accurately update and maintain records and to work to deadlines for the submission of information.
