New year, new job. Are you a Senior Civil or Infrastructure Engineer looking to step away from rigid corporate structures and into a consultancy where your contribution genuinely matters? You will be based in the London office, working closely with a multidisciplinary civil and structural engineering team while contributing to projects across the South East and wider UK. The workload is deliberately varied, ranging from single dwelling extensions and bespoke residential schemes through to high-rise, industrial, commercial and large-scale residential developments of 500+ units. This role offers genuine exposure across sectors rather than being limited to one market, supporting clients wherever their projects are located while benefiting from flexible, hybrid working.
The role
As a Senior Civil / Infrastructure Engineer, you will take responsibility for the technical delivery of multiple development-led schemes while supporting team development and client relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing civil and infrastructure projects from concept through to delivery
* Leading highways and drainage design in line with UK standards
* Checking calculations, drawings, specifications and reports
* Coordinating with architects, clients and multidisciplinary teams
* Managing workloads across multiple projects to programme and budget
* Providing mentoring and technical guidance to junior engineers
* Undertaking site visits and supporting construction delivery
* Preparing supporting reports for planning applications including Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies
Technical focus
You will be involved in highways and drainage design using English standards, including:
* S278 and S38 highway works
* S104 sewer adoption and drainage strategies
* Manual for Streets, DMRB and Sewers for Adoption
* AutoCAD, Civil 3D, PDS, Site 3D, MicroDrainage or Flow
About you
This role suits a confident Senior Civil Engineer ready to lead.
You will ideally have:
* A degree in Civil Engineering
* Chartered or near Chartered status with ICE
* Strong consultancy experience across multiple development sectors
* Excellent communication and client-facing skills
* A proactive, collaborative and self-motivated approach
