We're working with a busy immersive tech studio building VR and AR training experiences for major automotive, construction, infrastructure, hospitality and retail brands. Real applications deployed to thousands of users, solving actual business problems.
The Senior Unity Developer role:
As Senior Unity Developer, you'll develop Unity applications for VR headsets, AR mobile platforms, touchscreen installations, and smart devices. One week you're building VR training simulations teaching construction workers safe machinery operation. Next week you're creating AI-powered dialogue systems for hospitality training scenarios. Then you're optimising mobile AR configurators that help automotive brands sell vehicles before they're manufactured.
The technical work covers performance optimisation for standalone VR hardware, building conversational AI avatars that respond naturally, and creating training scenarios that measurably change behaviour. Real problems with production constraints and enterprise deployment requirements.
As Senior Unity Developer, you'll lead three developers, helping them get better at solving problems while delivering production code. You'll make architecture and tooling decisions as the studio expands its AI capabilities. You'll collaborate directly with producers, 3D artists, instructional designers, and work with clients who need complex technical ideas explained without jargon.
Career progression:
This Senior Unity Developer position moves quickly to Lead or Principal level for the right person. The studio is expanding, project pipeline is confirmed through 2026, and they need someone who can grow into leading technical direction across multiple projects.
What you need:
Six years developing Unity and C# applications, with delivered AR, VR, and MR projects
Already operating at Senior Unity Developer level, ideally with experience of team leadership (not essential)
Comfortable talking to clients throughout development.
Can explain technical constraints to non-technical people clearly.
Bonus Point Skills Unreal Engine and C++ development opens more project opportunities.
Understanding LLM integration into training environments helps as the studio grows this capability.
Networking or data-driven application experience matters for upcoming projects.
