About The Role
Location: North Tyneside Transfer Station Wallsend Road Tyne & Wear NE29 7SH
1. Salary £12.31 per hour. This raises to £12.71 once mobile plant trained
2. Working 42 hours per week with following schedule- 07.30-16.00 Monday to Thursday; 07.30 - 15.30 Friday
3. Full PPE provided
What will I be doing?
4. You will carry out the operation of loading shovels, FLT & tele-handlers across the site, loading a variety of different types of vehicles such as curtain sided vehicles, shipping containers and bulk haulage walking floors.
5. To ensure the safe and efficient operation of fixed machinery, such as bailing machines.
6. Completing daily checks and maintenance of mobile plant, Fixed Plant and equipment used at the facility.
7. To direct customer’s vehicles to the various disposal areas and assist them with off-loading as required.
8. Assisting Sampling Operatives with collection of output samples.
9. To ensure the site is kept clean and tidy at all times.
10. To assist Production staff with their duties during end of shift clean-ups and plant downtime.
11. Contributing to lean and 5’s activities across the site in order to maintain a clean, organised and efficient workplace.
12. To work as part of a team to maintain an efficient and cost-effective operation.
13. Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job role.
What are the requirements?
14. We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who is willing to train and obtain mobile plant operation qualifications. You will be expected to join the current site team to ensure site operations exceed the standards required, you will need:
15. A flexible approach to work will be advantageous as you will be expected to cover holiday and sick days if required.
16. A safety conscious approach with the desire to develop & embrace change to promote continuous improvement.
17. Previous experience within the waste industry or other high-volume production processes is an advantage, but not a necessity.
