Protocol Education is currently supporting a number of friendly and supportive primary schools across Gateshead who are looking for passionate teachers to join them for supply cover and longer-term placements.
Whether you’re newly qualified or an experienced teacher looking to step away from full-time pressures, supply teaching offers a brilliant way to develop your career while maintaining flexibility.
Working hours are typically 8.30am to 3.30pm, term time only.
Why Teachers Enjoy Supply Work
Supply teaching gives you the chance to focus on teaching while exploring different school environments without committing long term straight away.
When you work with Protocol Education, you can:
• Choose the days you want to work
• Teach across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2
• Experience a variety of Gateshead schools
• Focus on teaching without excessive admin
• Enjoy a healthier work-life balance
And of course, one of the best perks of working in schools…
You’ll benefit from all school holidays off, giving you time to relax, travel, spend time with family, or focus on professional development.
A Great Route Into Permanent Roles
Many teachers begin their careers through supply work before securing permanent roles in schools they love.
Supply teaching allows you to:
• Experience different schools before committing
• Build relationships with leadership teams
• Demonstrate your teaching style and classroom management
• Gain valuable references and experience
Many schools prefer hiring teachers they’ve already seen succeed in their classrooms, so supply work can often lead directly to long-term opportunities.
What You’ll Be Doing
Depending on the school and placement, you may:
• Deliver engaging lessons across the primary curriculum
• Support pupil learning and classroom participation
• Maintain strong behaviour routines
• Work alongside teaching staff and leadership teams
• Create a positive learning environment for pupils
Every placement offers a new opportunity to build confidence and develop your experience.
We’re Looking For
• Qualified Primary Teachers with QTS
• Early Career Teachers (ECTs)
• Experience teaching EYFS, KS1, or KS2
