This role is easily commutable from Sheffield, Chesterfield, Rotherham, Worksop, Bolsover, Dronfield, North Anston, Retford, Doncaster and Mansfield. Here at Tarmac, we are working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it's important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.Main ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will have responsibility for managing the Quarry, taking ownership of performance and quality. You will be responsible for achieving and maximising the efficiency of the production process. As Section Manager – Mechanicalyou will also be proactive and adopt a 'hands on' approach to all maintenance activity including Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), defect and risk management, breakdowns, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and project engineering work for both fixed and mobile plant. As Maintenance Supervisor you will be responsible for:Managing, coaching and developing a highly skilled, fit for purpose and extremely motivated team to ensure business continuity and reduce business riskLeading change and continuous improvement initiatives, whilst maintaining disciplined stock management processes and producing operational reportsAll aspects of budgetary control for all site operationsMaintaining and implementing existing and new, Standard Operating Procedures, risk assessments and training your staff on the sameManaging and overseeing the safe operation of the site and the planned preventative maintenance of all the site's equipment, fixed and mobileReporting and investigating any unsafe or hazardous working practicesIssuing of safety briefings and toolbox talks to your operational teamManaging proactively both mandatory training and developmental training of your staff and keep an up-to-date training matrixCollating and report on monthly performance KPI and driving operational performance through KPI'sThis role is working across Monday to Friday with the occasional Saturday morning required to meet with our plant operational and customer needs.The Ideal CandidateTo be successful in the role of Maintenance Supervisor you will ideally have experience and knowledge of different methods of winning and extracting raw material as well as knowledge of techniques employed to load extracted minerals and viable options to transport extracted minerals and its applications within the industry, including feeding, crushing, screening, separation, classification and beneficiation techniques.
