Based in Stockport, We are seeking an adaptable and proactive Accounts Assistant to join a busy team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is hands-on, approachable, and eager to support a wider accounts function. The successful candidate will have a positive can‑do attitude and be flexible in meeting the day‑to‑day demands of a dynamic department.
Your new role
Working as part of a small knit finance team, you will be responsible for assisting the department with various finance related tasks:-
Key ResponsibilitiesDuties will include, but are not limited to:
1. Supporting the Accounts Department with a range of transactional & support duties.
2. Supplier statement reconciliations, including the collection and verification of missing invoices.
3. Matching purchase orders accurately.
4. Processing and checking weekly staff expenses.
5. Assisting with purchase ledger tasks/ledger when required
6. Undertaking various ad hoc duties that support the daily function of the department.
7. Ongoing development within the team to acquire broader knowledge of all account processes.
This role would suit someone who thrives in a varied position and enjoys working in a close-knit team environment. You must be adaptable, enthusiastic, andmitted to providing high-quality support across the accounts function.
What you'll need to succeed
8. Experience using Sage 50 Accounts is highly desirable (but not essential).
9. Excel
10. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
11. Excellentmunication skills and a team-focused approach.
12. Highly organised, reliable, andfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
13. A proactive attitude with a willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and support wherever needed.
