Please note this role is full time and involves weekend work and extensive travel for recruitment purposes.
Bristol City Women FC has a successful history of developing players capable of playing at the highest level. The club operate an Elite Talent Centre, Category 1 Professional Game Academy and a fully professional first team. The club are looking to appoint a Head of Recruitment to develop and lead their talent ID and recruitment strategy. Working closely with the board, first team manager and academy manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in driving the club’s strategic objective to recruit and develop talent to support first team success.
Main Responsibilities
The main accountabilities and responsibilities include:
* Work in collaboration with Head of Academy, 1 st Team manager and BCWFC Board to develop the club’s talent ID and recruitment strategy including a clear plan on current and future needs
* To lead on player recruitment with a focus on high-potential players aged 16-21
* Establish depth charts and player profiles across the 1 st team and U21s team
* Ensure that value is realised from recruited players sold for a fee
* Build positive working relationships and be in regular contact with agents, recruitment professionals and coaches at other clubs and academies
* Be well informed of the most useful domestic and international teams to scout, and keep that information up to date.
* Liaise with and brief club staff who are attending any games for scouting purposes and plan a games programme to attend relevant games/ tournaments for targeted or opportunistic scouting, typically covering:
o WSL and WC fixtures
o Domestic European fixtures
o Academy fixtures
o International matches & Youth international matches
* Ensuring effective communication between all departments, including Head of Academy, 1 st Team Manager and BCWFC Board
* To adhere to the FA Safeguarding and equality policies and procedures
* To adhere to the FA and Bristol City WFC Code of Conduct
About The Candidate
Qualifications / Requirements
The club would welcome applications from individuals who have the following qualifications and experiences:
* Experience working in the elite women’s game
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* UEFA A License (or working towards)
* Working knowledge of a WSL or Women's Championship football team
* Good understanding of football contracts
* Experience working with football agents
* FA Level 3 Advanced principles of Talent Identification and Development
* FA Level 4 Leadership in Talent Identification and Management
