This is a 12 months fixed term/secondment opportunity
Anexcellent opportunity has arisen for a positive and flexible individual to joinour busy Surgical Clinical Business Unit (CBU 2) as a Medical WorkforceScheduler. This position is 37.5 hours, 5 days per week. Flexible workingpatterns may also be considered.
Forthis post, you will be educated to O level/GCSE standard in Maths and English(grade C or above) and possess an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification inBusiness Administration.
Thesuccessful candidate will provide comprehensive, high quality and effectivedoctor rota coordination to the CBU, including liaising with internal andexternal stakeholders to ensure minimum staffing is maintained at all times. Itis essential that you have excellent communication skills and previousexperience working within a health care administration setting.
Youwill be required to work independently using your own initiative whilst beingable to respond quickly and efficiently to conflicting demands and queries.

Main duties of the job
Working on own initiative and without directsupervision, provide effective rota coordination to the Clinical Business Unit,taking a pro-active approach in ensuring all out of hours shifts are coveredand minimum staffing is maintained at all times.
To receive and handlesickness/other sensitive information using tact and compassion, ensuring that individualsare sign posted appropriately to places. Ensure medical staffabsence is documented OMA advised and support the OSM by providing cover forthe relevant activity.
Record doctor sickness and resolve queriesrelating to all types of leave e.g. annual, study, special and maternity onbehalf of the CBU including agreeing annual leave and study leave, escalatingto the OSM when leave cannot be agreed.
To ensure that any phased return plans aresuccessfully carried out, working with the CBU management and Consultants. Thismay include adjusting the rota.
To ensure all Study leave recorded is supported byan authorised form, Responsible for communicating and publishing future rotasand any changes to all relevant parties
