Aberdeen is a busy coastal city in the north east of Scotland. It is supported by both the oil industry and agriculture. There is also access to university within the city. The Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital opened in 2004. It boasts fantastic facilities for children and young people in a purpose built setting to cater for their diverse needs including A&E, Peadiatric assessment unit, HDU, Day case unit, Theatres, Surgical ward, Medical ward ,Outpatient Department and Therapies Suite and parent accommodation suite. Individual specialties are supported locally by the dedicated specialist nurses for their team. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a forward thinking, motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse with an interest in Diabetes to join the Diabetes Specialist Nursing Team. The role will include working within the inpatient and community setting delivering diabetes care and structured patient education in line with the national and best practice guidance. We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic individual who is looking for the opportunity to work within diabetes as part of a multidisciplinary team. In this exciting position you will have the opportunity to develop your diabetes skills & knowledge, teaching skills, contribute to service projects as well as quality audits. Applicants should be keen, motivated with excellent communication and organizational skills. You will have a drive to improve the lives of those living with diabetes, and be dedicated to delivering high quality standards of care.
