Residential Child Care Worker – Leeds (Five Rivers)
We are recruiting for our residential children’s homes in Leeds. We are a social enterprise that provides caring, bespoke residential homes for young people aged 7‑18 who have had a difficult start to life. You will join a team of compassionate, child‑focused adults whose mission is to give the best experiences for our children and young people. You will also be supported as part of a bigger team with our integrated services, including clinical and education colleagues.
We specialise in trauma‑informed care following our therapeutic model to help their lives.
No specific experience required – we will train you. We are looking for people who want to be effective with a young person, are patient and resilient when times are challenging.
Responsibilities
* Plan and lead activities such as kayaking, rock climbing, swimming, skating, arts and crafts, beach adventures, forest walks, movie nights, and camping.
* Serve as a role model, guiding and supporting children to make good choices.
* Clean, cook meals, maintain the home, and learn new skills, including nutritional meal planning, first aid, Health & Safety, and gardening.
* Pursue a Level 4 apprenticeship in residential childcare and develop your professional career as a children’s support worker.
* Follow a clear career pathway for future development.
* Participate in overnight stays: 2‑3 sleep‑ins per week, with the salary including an average of 8 sleep‑ins per month. Receive an additional £50 per sleep‑in.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Good written, verbal, and IT communication skills.
* Ability to have fun and understand the importance of play to children.
* Full driving licence (preferred).
* Over the age of nineteen.
* Willingness to undergo child protection screening, including DBS check and references (cost covered by Five Rivers).

Schedule
Average 39 hours a week for full‑time.
