Job Description: Aspiring Child Counsellor (Salisbury), Westbury
A Mental Health School in Salisbury is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work with vulnerable students aged 4 to 18 who have social, emotional, and mental health needs. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience supporting young people, especially for those aspiring to become child counsellors.
Responsibilities include:
* Supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) and various social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
* Helping students overcome learning barriers and building their self-esteem, social skills, and emotional resilience.
* Implementing positive behaviour strategies in collaboration with teachers and therapy teams.
* Providing pastoral care and support tailored to individual needs.
* Gaining practical skills in behaviour management, emotional support, and active listening, preparing for future training as a child counsellor.
This role is ideal for graduates in Psychology, Sociology, Counselling, or Criminology.
