The Opportunity
An exciting contract opportunity has arisen with a leading engineering consultancy supporting a nationally significant nuclear programme. This role offers the chance to work on complex mechanical systems in a highly regulated, safety-critical environment.

Senior Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, Lead Mechanical Engineer, Project Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Systems Engineer, Principal Mechanical Engineer, Design Engineer, Mechanical Technical Lead, Engineering Consultant, Mechanical Specialist.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
Lead mechanical design delivery across all project phases, ensuring timely and high-quality outputs
Prepare and review engineering documentation such as specifications, calculations, and technical reports
Ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulatory requirements, and project criteria
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including EC&I, civil, and project delivery disciplines
Contribute to design reviews, hazard studies, and the resolution of technical challenges during installation and commissioningYou will have the following qualifications and experience
Demonstrable experience in a senior mechanical engineering role within highly regulated sectors such as nuclear or defence
Previous involvement in major nuclear programmes or similar complex environments
Active SC clearance is essential
Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, codes, and design standards
Proven ability to produce and assess detailed technical documentationGet in touch now
