Finance Business Partner – Banbury Contract: 6-month contract - perm options could be available for the right candiate Rate: £30–£45 per hour Hours: Full-time Working Pattern: Hybrid – 4 days onsite in Banbury per week Business Unit: Advanced Composites Manufacturing About the Role Reporting to the Finance Director, this is a key role supporting a £30m advanced composites manufacturing business. The Finance Business Partner will act as a trusted advisor to the Banbury leadership team, providing timely and insightful financial analysis to support decision-making, maximise returns, and build a cost-conscious, continuous-improvement culture. The organisation specialises in the development and production of advanced composite materials and components for high-technology industries. Key Responsibilities Business Partnering & Leadership Support Lead month-end activities, reporting actual performance vs. forecast, budget, and long-range plan with clear analysis and commentary Prepare site forecasts, annual budgets, and strategic financial plans Provide financial insight and analysis to support effective leadership decisions Challenge the business to deliver against commitments and support growth initiatives Build robust business cases for key strategic programmes, challenging assumptions where needed Prepare and deliver financial reporting packs for leadership review Financial Control & Governance Maintain a strong financial control environment in line with company policies and relevant accounting standards Support preparation of capital investment cases and provide financial challenge Coordinate internal and external audit activity for the Banbury Finance team Process Improvement & Collaboration Collaborate across functions to drive improvements and promote best practice Actively contribute to CI and Lean initiatives Promote a continuous-improvement mindset across the site Team Development & Stakeholder Engagement Coach and develop Finance Analysts to build wider team capability Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, ensuring leaders are fully informed and supported Contribute to the delivery of Finance for Non-Finance training across the site Person Specification Essential Experience & Skills Significant post-qualified experience (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent) Strong commercial acumen and experience developing investment/business cases Background in manufacturing or engineering Proven business partnering experience with senior leadership Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills High proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel Excellent communication and influencing skills Resilient, proactive, and hands-on approach Strong decision-making ability and adaptability Ability to work onsite in Banbury four days per week Desirable Knowledge of relevant GAAP and internal control frameworks Experience with SAP, HFM, or similar financial systems
