Role Overview
Monitoring Centre – you will answer all incoming Helpline alarm calls, handle out‑of‑hours Colchester City Council calls and manage Colchester Borough Homes housing repairs. You will also monitor a network of high‑definition digital CCTV cameras across Colchester City Centre, liaise with businesses and teams across the city, and coordinate with emergency services when necessary.
Responsibilities
* Respond to all Helpline alarm calls and out‑of‑hours council calls.
* Manage housing repairs for Colchester Borough Homes.
* Monitor the CCTV network in Colchester City Centre.
* Liaise with local businesses, teams and emergency services.
* Support the digital transition of Helpline equipment, installing new gear.
* Operate fleet of branded automatic vehicles and drive safely.
* Use specialist lifting equipment to safely lift falling customers.
Shift Coverage
Work various shifts 24/7. Must cover the full range of shifts across the 7‑day week.
Qualifications & Requirements
* No previous experience required; training will be provided.
* Full clean driving licence required – you will operate the company’s branded automatic vehicles.
* Preferably an enhanced DBS Check with Barring and an SIA CCTV Licence.
* Must pass an enhanced DBS check and a full medical assessment.
* A calm, methodical and caring personality is required.
