Responsible Individual – Children’s Residential Services
Location: West London / Middlesex (M4 Corridor)
Rate: £400 – £450 per day
Contract: Flexible / Consultancy (days increasing as portfolio grows)
We’re working with an ambitious children’s residential care provider who is looking to appoint an experienced Responsible Individual (RI) to support the launch and development of their growing portfolio of homes across West London and the Middlesex area.
This is an excellent opportunity for an RI who enjoys building services from the ground up and wants to play a key role in shaping a provider’s long-term growth strategy.
About the Role
Initially, you will oversee one home preparing to open, with a second service launching shortly after. The provider has clear growth plans and expects the portfolio to reach four homes within the next 12–24 months, at which point you would oversee the full group.
The position is being offered on a flexible day-rate basis, with the number of working days increasing as additional homes become operational.
The Homes

Two homes currently close to opening in the West London / Middlesex area

One home already has a highly experienced Registered Manager in place (previous RI experience)
*
Recruitment is underway for the second home’s Registered Manager
*
Future homes planned across the M4 corridor
The provider is well prepared for launch and is keen to appoint an RI who can help guide the services through registration and establish strong operational standards.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee Ofsted registration and regulatory compliance
*
Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight to Registered Managers
*
Ensure services meet and exceed Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
*
Support the development of new homes as the organisation expands
*
Maintain strong safeguarding and governance frameworks across the services
*
Drive continuous improvement and positive Ofsted outcomes
The Ideal Candidate
We’re keen to speak with individuals who have:

Previous experience as a Responsible Individual within children’s residential care
*
A proven track record of registering new homes and achieving positive Ofsted outcomes
*
Strong knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and inspection framework
*
The ability to mentor and support Registered Managers
*
A strategic mindset and passion for building high-quality services
