Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist interested in haemoglobinopathies to join our Haematology teams cross site.
This is a great opportunity to demonstrate clinical leadership and practice at an advanced level, demonstrating autonomy and clinical decision making in the coordination of care across inpatient, emergency and outpatient services.
You will work as a highly specialised member of the haematology team and will be responsible for the ongoing development and delivery of a high-quality haemoglobinopathy service across the trust.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialised, individualised care and support to patients with haemoglobinopathy disorders and their families/carers.
* Assess and interpret complex needs of haemoglobinopathy patients and provide highly specialist advice concerning the care of this group of patients.
* Act as a key point of contact, offering expert advice, practical and emotional support to patients and their families/carers.
* Work closely with haematology consultants, other healthcare professionals, the patient and their families/carers to ensure coordinated care and smooth transition between different care settings.
* Promote and be responsible for the ongoing development of a high-quality haemoglobinopathy service across the trust.
* Be responsible for the planning of the haemoglobinopathy nursing service provision including the planning and running of nurse led clinics.
Qualifications
Previous experience in haemoglobinopathy is preferred but not essential as training can be provided.
