Overview:
We’re looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join a high-performing team supporting defence programmes. This role offers the chance to work on complex, mission-critical systems in a hybrid working environment. You will apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles to drive requirements, architecture, and design activities across the full system lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and contribute to system architecture design, requirements analysis, and verification/validation activities
* Apply MBSE techniques using industry-standard tools (e.g., SysML, Cameo, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect)
* Develop and maintain system models to support design decisions and stakeholder communications
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, software, integration, and test teams
* Ensure traceability between requirements, design, and test artefacts
* Support the development of technical documentation and design reviews
* Engage with customers and stakeholders to understand and refine requirements
Essential Requirements:
* Minimum 6 years' experience in systems engineering within the defence sector
* Strong working knowledge of MBSE methodologies and tools (e.g., SysML, Cameo)
* Proven experience across the systems engineering lifecycle (concept through to delivery)
* Good understanding of requirements management and systems architecture
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Active SC clearance (Security Check) is mandatory
Desirable:
* Experience with DOORS or similar requirements management tools
* Exposure to complex systems such as missiles, radar, communications, or aerospace platforms
* Chartered or working toward Chartership with a relevant engineering institution
