The Role As a Data Centre Engineer / Critical Site Engineer, you will maintain and support critical electrical infrastructure within a live data centre environment, including:
: UPS systems (Uninterruptible Power Supply)
: Standby generators
: LV/HV electrical distribution systems
: Switchgear and control systems
: Building Management Systems (BMS)
You will work in a safety:critical, high:performance environment, ensuring maximum uptime and reliability.
Key Responsibilities Maintenance and Operations
: Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
: Maintain and fault:find critical electrical systems
: Complete technical reports and maintain accurate documentation
: Use CMMS systems for job tracking and compliance
: Support 24/7 operations, including on:call rota participation
: Respond to and escalate critical incidents effectively
Team and Contractor Management
: Supervise subcontractors and ensure safe working practices
: Assist with remedial works, upgrades, and small projects
Compliance and Safety
: Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) standards
: Attend training, team meetings, and technical briefings
Requirements Essential
: Level 2 and Level 3 Electrical Qualification (City and Guilds or equivalent)
: 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
: Experience in electrical maintenance (facilities, building services, or industrial environments)
: Strong fault:finding and PPM knowledge
: Good communication and teamwork skills
Desirable
: Experience in data centres or critical environments
: HVAP / LVAP Authorisation
: Knowledge of UPS systems, generators, and critical power infrastructure
