Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Finance Controller/Administrator on a full time, permanent basis to join their team based in Moray. The purpose of the role is to assume responsibility for financial reporting and control, expense management, payroll and oversight of regulatory reporting.
Duties include:
* Management and delivery of financial reporting including balance sheet review and control.
* Preparing and reconciling monthly financial accounts with the financial back-office system.
* Financial management and reporting of costs, including accounts payable, payroll and expenses.
* Monitoring regulatory reporting requirements including assisting with the completion of FCA submissions.
* Driving the development and evolution of management information to deliver insight on financial performance.
* Act as a key point of contact for external auditors, leading the process in line with the Groups annual audit timetable.
* Enhance, standardise and maintain strong control financial controls.
* Processing statements from providers, inputting them to administrative and accounting systems.
* Reconciling provider payments to cash receipts using administrative and accounting systems.
* Reconciling individual payments and commissions to client accounts using administrative and accounting systems.
* Manage client invoicing using administrative and accounting systems overseeing the timely payment of fees.
* Payment of invoices and ensure these payments are made in a timely and efficient manner.
* Investigate transactions on company bank accounts to ensure accurate billing and receipts.
* Take responsibility for the accuracy and quality of data within financial systems.
* Provide the required financial reports and data accurately and in a timely manner.
* Communicate professionally and effectively with providers, clients and professional stakeholders.
* Adhere to the processes within Compliance procedures.
Person Specification:
* Accountancy qualification (desirable).
* Financial Services industry experience including prudential regulation knowledge (desirable).
* Solid technical background, including statutory reporting and strengthening financial controls framework (desirable).
* Experience of using accounts systems, period end accounting routines and consolidation processes (desirable).
* Knowledge of IFRS, UK Statutory accounts and relevant disclosure requirements (desirable).
* Confident communicator, able to build relationships and present financial information clearly and concisely.
* Enthusiastic, positive and proactive attitude.
* An accomplished problem solver who can work through complex issues and data.
* Capable and confident working either independently/remotely or contributing as part of a team.
* Self-motivation, resilience and a clear focus on attention to detail and high-quality output.
* Excellent numeracy and spreadsheet skills.
