We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer for our products. You will be part of a global team focused on cost optimization and cost reduction. This position will have a broad scope, involving all our products in the EMEA & SAL region.
Position Summary
You will be responsible for industrial and mechanical design, verification, and implementation, as well as creating technical specifications and documentation for your areas of the solution. These areas will mainly relate to high-volume products. The position is based in Dundee, Scotland, or Malmö, Sweden, and involves working in a global team.
Key Responsibilities
* Mechanical design development, 3D CAD modeling of exterior and internal structural parts
* Participate in industrial design discussions
* Possibility to lead colleagues involved in mechanical design
* Assemble prototypes for verification in our lab
* Define test methods, verify the design, and analyze results
* Write technical documentation such as requirement and test specifications, and test reports
* Prepare designs for release and production implementation
Skills and Qualifications
* BSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
* 4+ years of experience in a similar role; experience in industrial design, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, machining, packaging electronic components, and cooling solutions is preferred but not required
* Proficiency in CAD, preferably SolidWorks
* Experience with PDM systems like SmarTeam
* Proficiency in MS Office
* Experience working in test labs and experimental shops
Essential Functions
* Fluent in English, verbal and written
* Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-centric approach
* Ability to produce engineering documents and work effectively in international teams
* Willingness to travel and work at different DFS sites
