Hard FM Service Manager - NHS
We are currently seeking a Hard FM Service Manager to join our South West-based NHS repairs and maintenance team. This role is responsible for managing a team of directly employed skilled trade operatives across planned, preventative, and responsive maintenance.
As Service Manager, you will oversee a team of maintenance operatives to ensure the delivery of planned and reactive repairs across multiple hospital and healthcare sites in Bristol, Salisbury, and Swindon. Your responsibilities include responding to reactive calls and PPMs to ensure smooth daily operations meeting SLA and KPI targets.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of hard FM services, ensuring statutory compliance with legislation and local codes to safeguard health and safety in hospital environments. When in-house completion isn't possible, you will manage specialist subcontracted services, ensuring quality and HSQE obligations are met. Reporting to the contract manager, you will contribute to ongoing improvements and long-term contract strategies to maximize productivity and quality, achieve cost efficiencies, and mitigate risks.
The ideal candidate will have experience as a Hard FM Service Manager or Supervisor within a maintenance organization, preferably supporting NHS clients. Strong influencing, communication, and relationship-building skills are essential, along with knowledge of M&E building services maintenance and health & safety procedures. A customer service approach, interpersonal skills, and IT proficiency (MS Office) are also required.
