JOB TITLE: Support Worker - Learning Disability/Mental Health
LOCATION: Mullagh House, Limavady
POST: Reserve List for Permanent/Temporary, Part-time/Full-Time for Mullagh House
Mullagh House is a supported living accommodation providing care and support for 16 adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities. It is centrally located in Limavady and offers 24-hour staff support, 365 days a year, helping tenants develop skills and be involved in day-to-day decision making.
Responsibilities
* Provide care and support to adults with learning disabilities and/or mental health issues in a supported living setting
* Support tenants in developing daily living skills and participating in decision making
* Contribute to a safe and supportive environment in line with regulatory requirements
* Maintain accurate records and assist with administrative duties as required
* Work collaboratively with the team to meet the needs of residents
Essential Criteria
* QCF/NVQ 2 Health and Social Care or equivalent
* Either
* 6 months experience in a formal care/support role and experience working with individuals with learning disabilities/mental health issues
* Must be registered with NISCC or, if new to the sector, must achieve registration within 6 months
* Previous experience in administrative duties
* Or
* 2 years' experience in a formal care/support role and experience working with individuals with Learning Disabilities/Mental Health issues
* Must be currently registered with NISCC or achieve registration within 6 months if new to the sector
* Previous experience in administrative duties
* Must be willing to work towards completing the relevant qualification
Other
* Formal Care/Support may include caring at home (carer may be in receipt of Carers' Allowance) or voluntary work in a formal setting
This is a regulated post and will be subject to a satisfactory Access NI check.
