The role
As a Security analyst you are responsible for ensuring that ANS’s customers are protected from unauthorised access. This includes securing both online and on-premise infrastructures, weeding through metrics and data to filter out suspicious activity, and finding and mitigating risks before breaches occur. If a breach does occur, security analysts are often on the front line, leading efforts to counter the attack.
You will also be responsible for generating reports for senior business members to evaluate the efficiency of the security policies ANS have in place. You will then help to make the necessary changes for a more secure network and may also create training programs and modules to educate employees and users on proper security protocols.
What will I be doing?
1. Triage and investigation of Security Incidents in Sentinel
2. Tunning of Alerts in Sentinel
3. Tuning security alerting and prevention rulesets
4. Managing security technologies
5. Communicating with clients during an incident (email and phone)
6. On-boarding of customers into Managed XDR services
7. Monitoring and responding to SOC alerts
8. Assisting with compromise investigations and e-discovery requests
9. Liaising with clients via ticket and phone call and also during incidents
10. Reviewing vulnerability scans and providing remediation advice to clients
11. Proactive monitoring of clients solutions
12. Assisting Sales/Account managers with client security
What will I bring to the role?
A good understanding of the following technologies is required:
13. Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
14. Knowledge of syslog and event viewer
15. Incident Response
16. Network Defence
17. NIST CVSS Vulnerabilities and scoring system
18. OS Specific log data
19. Knowledge of secure development principles and OWASP top 10
20. Previous Security engineering or Security Operations experience, ideally within another MSSP
Essential:
21. Candidate must be capable of achieving HMG Security Clearance, which requires 5 years of UK residence
22. This role includes shift pattern work, including nights
