Overview
Site Leader / Senior Operations Manager at Amazon, Worcestershire, England, United Kingdom. You’ll be the person who knows your area of the business inside out, own the operational metrics, set the strategy, deliver for our customers, and grow our operations. You’ll also develop a large team and coach and mentor team leaders.
Responsibilities
* Monitor operational metrics and business performance
* Contribute to planning the operational budget, including financial and labour planning
* Protect high standards of operational Health and Safety
* Strategic planning for the next three, six and twelve months, with a focus on peak-season planning
* Be accountable for operational leadership by measuring performance, offering feedback, and providing development support
* A day in the life: be based at one or more operational sites, manage and motivate a team of leaders, focus on long-term objectives, create contingency plans to keep operations running and drive initiatives that boost quality, safety and productivity
* Be a source of accountability and a business-wide champion of best practice
About the Team
Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) plays a central role in our success, using air, sea and road transport, as well as sortation centres, to keep Amazon’s transport running efficiently. The team captures data to drive decisions and helps Amazon stay innovative and efficient. Safety is a priority, and our people drive fast, convenient and sustainable delivery.
Basic Qualifications
* A degree
* Relevant experience in manufacturing, production, distribution logistics environments, retail, or grocery in a management role
* Relevant experience of working within a complex stakeholder structure
* Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and upper intermediate proficiency in the local language
Preferred Qualifications
* A bachelor’s, advanced or master’s degree in engineering, supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing
* Experience in managing third-party relationships
* Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies
