We are currently looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to support one of our clients based on-site in Bristol.
This is a full-time, position working a 37.5-hour week Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate will be required to have a flexible approach as overtime and on-call duties may be required.
Due to the customer requirements successful applicants must be eligible for high level UK Security clearance.
Responsibilities:
1. Desktop / Laptop / VDI build, configuration, deployment to end users
2. Software installation / deployment
3. Asset and peripheral deployments
4. In depth investigation into issues
5. Work as part of a support team with laptop, desktop and VDI terminals support calls
6. Hardware installation / upgrade / break fix for desktop, laptop, and server
7. Smartphone support (Android & iOS)
8. VIP support
9. Assisting with customer projects
10. Occasional travel required around the area to help cover Leave at sites (within a 2hr travel)
What we're looking for:
11. Microsoft Windows 10, and 11 Operating Systems – Deployment, configuration, and support
12. Support Microsoft Office 2016 onwards
13. Proven and demonstrable software and hardware troubleshooting skills, experience in a Deskside Support role
14. Knowledge of Microsoft SCCM and OS / Application deployment
15. Good verbal communication with an ability to communicate to all levels
16. Good written communication: concise and accurate call logging, documentation, and email correspondence
17. Good time management / organisational skills
18. Work well as part of a team or independently
Desirable skills / qualifications:
19. Microsoft Windows 10 and / or 11 training, certification, and experience
20. Legacy Operating Systems
21. Active Directory management
22. Understanding of Microsoft SCCM
23. Experience of Microsoft Entra
24. Experience of Trellix EPO and client side agents
25. Experience of client side Wi-Fi configuration and troubleshooting
26. Experience of Windows Security configuration
27. Experience of client encryption and VPN - Trellix, Bitlocker, Cisco, F5 and Zscaler
28. Previous experience in a similar role
29. Willing to learn new skills and technologies
30. Clean full driving license
