PDM/PLM Specialist - Contract - Outside IR35
Overview
We are seeking an experienced PDM/PLM Specialist to support a critical 3-month engagement focused on defining requirements, processes, and supporting the procurement process for a new Product Data Management (PDM) solution as the first step towards a full PLM ecosystem. This role is pivotal in shaping the organisation's digital product data strategy and enabling a transition from spreadsheet-driven workflows to an integrated, automated solution. We require an experienced PDM/PLM specialist to guide and drive the business to ensure the right tool is recommended with a well‑thought‑out and detailed business case (with benefits)
Key Objectives
* Requirements & Process Definition: Capture and document business needs, map current processes, and identify gaps to inform solution design.
* RFP & Procurement Support: Collaborate with procurement to prepare and manage the Request for Proposal (RFP), evaluate vendor responses, and support selection.
* Business Case Development: Assist in building a robust business case for senior stakeholders, including cost‑benefit analysis and implementation roadmap.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with cross‑functional teams and senior leadership to align requirements and expectations.
* Governance & Best Practices: Recommend governance standards and process improvements to ensure long‑term scalability.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience with PLM/PDM systems (e.g. SAP PLM, Siemens, Synergis etc)
* Strong understanding of product development processes in FMCG (ideally) or manufacturing environments.
* Experience in requirements gathering, business process mapping, and digital transformation.
* Familiarity with RFP processes, vendor evaluation, and procurement collaboration.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and deliver outcomes within tight timelines.
