Responsibilities
* Work with the division's Product Managers to promote TKMS ATLAS UK capabilities and develop future business opportunities.
* Analyse requirements, develop solution concepts and translate concepts into high‑level architectural designs and system specifications.
* Prepare technical proposals and support Bid Managers in responding to invitations to tender and requests for quotation.
* Assume technical management of allocated projects, including all aspects of systems engineering management.
* Work closely with divisional Project Managers, colleagues in Engineering and Production Divisions, business support functions and external suppliers.
* Ensure delivery of products and services in accordance with project plans and performance, cost and time targets.
* Engage with stakeholders to align customer and self‑funded research with product development needs.
* Identify and road‑map key enabling technologies and contribute to TKMS ATLAS UK standardisation initiative.
* Own the long‑term plan for product development, overseeing projects through the product lifecycle from concept to in‑service support.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates will be systems thinkers and able to understand the broader operational context of customer requirements and user needs. Prior experience with product lifecycles, systems design, system modelling and analysis, requirements management, test and acceptance, production and support is beneficial. A technical background in at least one of the following areas is highly desirable:
* Sonar/seismic arrays
* Sensor data and signal processing, cabling and telemetry
* Real‑time systems, decision support systems, and their infrastructure
* Towed array and cable handling systems
* Weapon and Countermeasure systems
* Noise, vibration and electromagnetic data gathering, analysis, and management
* Acoustic and RF systems
* Industrial automation and control systems
* Safety systems
* Physical and system modelling and simulation
* Future submarine design concepts and technologies
Security Clearance
Due to the sensitive nature of the product all applicants must have worked within the Defence / Military industry within the last 12 months or be capable of obtaining Security Clearance (SC level minimum). SC clearance must be in place before the successful candidate can start.
