Job Description
SUMMARY
Design and test electrical components, equipment, and systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Compile and analyze operational, test, and research data to establish Acceptance Test Standards for newly designed or modified equipment.
- Prepare or direct the preparation of product and system layouts, schematics, and detailed drawings.
- Design electrical equipment using digital, analog, and microprocessor-based electronic components for military and commercial environments.
- Create schematics, wire run lists, and demonstrate familiarity with various electronic and electrical components, including mounting methods, heat sinking, and placement on printed circuit boards.
- Coordinate and perform operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment as necessary.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing during prototype building.
- Perform other related duties to ensure an efficient and effective work environment.
- Ensure all activities comply with Atec International Standards Organization (AS9100/ISO) policies, reporting deviations to the appropriate manager/supervisor.

AS9100/ISO SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Understand and adhere to Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.
- Follow required AS9100/ISO procedures and work instructions.
- Complete all records as per procedures and work instructions.
- Participate in Atec Improvement Machine (AIM) initiatives as appropriate.
- Attend AS9100/ISO training sessions as required.
- Cooperate with auditors and report deviations to the appropriate manager/supervisor.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering from a four-year college and at least 8-10 years of relevant experience, or 10+ years of related engineering experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
IEEE Membership is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to work with electrical equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts; moderate noise level; extended work hours and travel may be required.
