Salary: £59,690 - 59,690 per year Requirements: We are looking for a candidate who has demonstrated experience of working at the enterprise level, producing strategic, architectural, and design materials in a role with pan-organisational responsibilities. The ideal applicant should possess excellent formal and informal communication skills, with the ability to effectively influence and lead in a complex organisation. Experience within a large and strictly governed enterprise environment, such as Financial, Government, Defence, or National Security is essential. Candidates must also have experience with cloud-native technologies, including Serverless, Containerisation, Security Brokers, and Auto-Scaling. Furthermore, familiarity with one or more of the following cloud and hosting platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, VMWare, or similar is required. Responsibilities: As our Lead Technical Architect, I will expect you to iteratively create optimal technical reference architecture and patterns, aligning key factors such as user need, system requirements, security, and organisational objectives to support Defence’s Digital Backbone and Common Technology Architecture (CTA). You will contribute to the overall Technical Architecture vision, strategy, and road-map for cloud and hosting, by developing architectural principles, policies, patterns, and standards. You will also conduct horizon scanning across the industry, identifying emerging trends and their potential impact, and present these findings to senior management to recommend improvements. Collaborating and advising partners across Defence, Government, NATO Allies, and Industry to ensure alignment with Defence strategy will also be part of your role, along with developing and participating in architecture communities.
