Full-Time Year 4 Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant (TA) – Primary School, Huddersfield
At Trust Education, we are looking for an individual committed and experienced supporting SEN to work as an SEN TA to support a Year 4 pupil with Autism in a primary school based in the Huddersfield area. This full-time, starting in September 2025 on a 1:1 basis. The role will provide you with a rewarding opportunity to make a significant difference to a child’s education. To nurture and help them thrive and reach their full potential in a supportive, inclusive environment. The role is expected to continue until December 2025.
Your key responsibilities will include on a daily basis to:
* Provide 1:1 support to a child with ASC in Year 4.
* Create and implement personalised learning strategies.
* Promote the pupil’s engagement in all lessons.
* Build a positive and meaningful relationship with the child and support their emotional and social development.
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor and report on the pupil’s progress and suggest alternative ideas as you learn motivators to enhance their education journey.
* Adapt learning resources to meet the individual needs of the pupil.
* Support the pupil during break times, lunch, and other school activities as required.
About You:
* Previous experience of supporting children with SEN, particularly autism, in a school setting or similar.
* Passionate about working with children and helping them reach their full potential.
* Confident in using behaviour management strategies and providing emotional support.
* Patient, empathetic, and understanding, with a commitment to enhancing the learning experience for children with SEN.
This role is initially offered on a supply basis through Trust Education to monitor the engagement and success of the pupil's progress. If successful, the position may lead to a more permanent opportunity.
