THE COMPANY
Fowlers of Bristol (Engineers) Ltd is a well-established Bristol based manufacturing firm which produces high quality, sheet metal & precision engineered products predominantly for the Aerospace, Defence and Nuclear industries. We employ approx. 29 staff and operate a single day shift with occasional overtime.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Working primarily in the CNC Punching, Bending and Fitting department as part of a small team, producing accurate sheet metal parts.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Read & interpret engineering drawings.
* Set-up and operate Amada Acute CNC Turret Press.
* Set-up and operate Amada Press-brakes (HFE100-3 & HF50/12).
* Set-up and operate Hare 80T Press.*
* Set-up and operate manual Pierce-All punching machine.
* General hand fitting bench work, working with jigs & fixtures.
* Liaising with the Engineering Manager and the Production Planner to meet company targets.
THE PERSON
The ideal person will have;
1. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
2. Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings.
3. GCSE Maths & English - Grade C (or equivalent)
4. A working knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing techniques.
5. Experience of setting and operating an Amada Press brake or similar bending machine tool.
6. Experience of setting and operating an 80T Hare press or Pierce All or similar press machine.
7. Experience of setting and operating an Amada turret press or similar punching machine tool.
8. Experience in off-line programming for both the Turret press and Press brake. (Radan or similar)
9. Ability to re-set parts (after heat-treatment for example).
10. Ability to check own work prior to independent inspection.
11. Flexibility to be able to be useful, where required anywhere within the company.
12. Suitable skills with Microsoft Word/Excel to assist with the creation of job setup sheets.
THE PACKAGE
Rate: £13.85 to £16.41 per hour (depending on skills, capability and experience)
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week between the following times; Mon to Thurs = 7.15 to 16.00, Fri = 7.15 to 12.00.
* Flexible Working – Start times can be set based on employee preference to suit travel and childcare arrangements. The factory typically opens at 5.15am each day so a start time in increments of 15 mins can be requested from 5.15am through to 7.15am. Finish times adjusted accordingly.
Full Time Position, overtime may be required as the job demands, any additional hours will be paid at the following rates; 1.33 x hourly rate for first 4 hours, 1.5 x hourly rate for any overtime worked after the first 4 hours.
Holidays: 26 days holiday pay + statutory days (pro-rata based on a 37.5 hour working week).
Bonus: Sales Bonus which ranges between £5 to £50 per week depending on company performance (eligible after probationary period)
Probationary Period: 3 Months
