About the role
The OGC has recently established a new Risk function, that has been working closely and collaboratively with key risk stakeholders, to develop and implement effective risk management processes across the University. In this newly created function, we are looking to recruit a Head of Risk who will work closely with our Chief Risk and Compliance Officer (CRCO) to help design, promote and embed effective and robust risk management processes, systems and culture across the institute. As Head of Risk, you will also deputise for the CRCO when required.
This is a chance for you to play a key part in growing and shaping a risk function across a world-leading organisation. It’s also a highly influential role, with a senior stakeholder group where you will be liaising with colleagues at all levels across UCL, including the Provost, Vice-Provosts and Vice -Presidents, Council, Audit Committee, faculties and departments.

About you
To do this job you'll certainly have extensive risk management knowledge and experience, gained either in an inhouse risk management capacity or within a consultancy firm. A Risk Management qualification, such as IRM, GARP or ISO, or a recognised accountancy qualification such as ACA/ACCA/CIMA, is also essential.
You’ll be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of the tools and techniques of risk management and experience of fostering and embedding an effective risk management culture by forming and managing key stakeholder relationships.
