Role Overview
The GP will provide frontline clinical care within our Special Allocation Service, delivering face‑to‑face, virtual, telephone and video consultations. The role supports patients with complex needs, including those experiencing homelessness and challenging medical conditions. The GP will work close to a multi‑disciplinary team and provide mentorship, clinical governance, audit, and continuous professional development.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality clinical care via face‑to‑face, telephone or virtual consultations.
* Maintain accurate, legible patient records and adhere to EMIS electronic recordkeeping.
* Contribute to clinical governance, audit, risk management and local/national standards.
* Support clinical innovation and digital integration across the organisation.
* Collaborate with local GP practices, housing, social work, voluntary services and secondary care.
* Mentor new staff and clinical trainees across various professions.
* Participate in multi‑disciplinary meetings and strategic planning.
* Engage in continuing professional development and provide study leave per year.
* Ensure safeguarding protocols are followed and report concerns appropriately.
* Maintain full GMC registration, relevant professional memberships and contributions to appraisal.
Qualifications and Experience
* Relevant professional qualification and GMC registration.
* Experience in primary care and working with complex/disabled or disadvantaged patients.
* Evidence of excellent clinical record keeping and audit participation.
* Demonstrated leadership, change management, and evidence‑based practice.
* Strong communication, teamwork and negotiation skills.
* Proficiency with IT systems (EMIS, Patch, Docman, etc.).
* Trauma‑informed practice and safeguarding training.
