Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and motivated healthcare assistant to join our team on the Children’s ward. We provide care for children from 0–18 years admitted for acute illnesses or planned or elective procedures under a variety of specialities. We offer a range of development opportunities and are very supportive of role progression. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
* Work as part of the multidisciplinary team to deliver care to children and young people with support and supervision provided by a registered healthcare professional.
* Undertake personal care activities and clinical care duties with minimal support and supervision as delegated by a registered healthcare professional in accordance with the HEIW All Wales Guidelines for Delegation.
* Ensure the registered healthcare professional is regularly updated on the patient/clients condition and progress.
* Promote and maintain a healthy, safe and secure environment for children, young people and their families.
* Ensure the working environment is safe and hygienic following infection prevention and control policies and processes.
* Contribute to the teaching and supervision of students and junior staff.
* Deliver the role in accordance with the Health Board Values and the Code of Conduct for HCSW in Wales.
