About the Role We are urgently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Draftsperson to join our team as a contractor for an initial 6-month period, with a strong possibility of transitioning to a permanent role. This junior-level position is perfect for a recent graduate or early-career professional with a passion for technical design and proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D CAD. Reporting to project leads, you will play a critical role in consolidating existing and new technical drawings into a unified, systemic design, contributing to the success of our innovative projects. Key Responsibilities - Create, revise, and maintain technical drawings using AutoCAD and 3D CAD software to meet project specifications. - Collaborate closely with project leads to interpret design requirements and ensure alignment with project goals. - Compile and integrate current and new drawings into a cohesive, systemic design framework, ensuring consistency and accuracy. - Review and verify drawings for completeness, adherence to standards, and compatibility with project objectives. - Assist in resolving design discrepancies by proposing solutions and incorporating feedback from team reviews. - Maintain organised documentation of all CAD files and revisions to support efficient project workflows. - Participate in team briefings and contribute insights to optimise design processes and improve efficiency. - Stay updated on industry best practices and CAD software advancements to enhance design quality. Qualifications and Skills Required: - Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar). - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting technical drawings. - Basic understanding of design and engineering principles, suitable for a recent graduate or junior professional. - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with project leads and stakeholders. - Strong organisational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks in a hybrid work setting. Preferred: - Associate's or Bachelor's degree in drafting, engineering, architecture, or a related field. - Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ISO, ANSI) and technical drawing conventions. - Experience with 3D modeling or rendering for visualisation purposes. - Adaptability to learn new CAD tools or workflows as needed. Work Environment - Hybrid Work Model: The role is primarily office-based (near junct 5 of the M25) with the flexibility to work from home 2 days per week, offering a balance of collaboration and independence. - Contract-to-Permanent Opportunity: Initial 6-month contract with a high likelihood of transitioning to a permanent role based on performance and business needs.
