Job Overview
The Lavender Homebirth Team is looking for a Band 6 Midwife to provide continuity of care for women choosing homebirth. This is a 30‑hour permanent role covering the Frimley Health catchment area.

* Confidence in autonomous practice and caseload management.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities
* Work as a midwife and member of the midwifery team across all maternity service areas (Community, Antenatal Ward, Labour Ward, Postnatal Ward, Transitional Care Unit, Birth Centre, Antenatal Clinic, Maternity Assessment Centre).
* Manage a caseload within the Frimley Health catchment area, building strong relationships and delivering compassionate, woman-centred care.
* Collaborate closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, informed care planning, particularly where additional risk factors are identified.
* Act as prime care provider in either the hospital or community setting, taking responsibility for care delivery and post‑registration education and development.
Person Specification
Experience
* Knowledge of the 6 C’s.
* Evidence of successful collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Skills
* Demonstrated clinical skills commensurate with a Band 6 midwife.
* Excellent written and presentation skills.
* Maintain confidentiality and data protection.
* Effective communication skills.
* Effective internet and IT skills.
* Awareness of research related to midwifery practice.
Special Requirements
* Willing to work in all departmental areas.
* Able to work day and night duty.
* Able to fulfil on‑call service (community posts only).
* Car driver (community posts only).
Qualifications
* Diploma/BSc in Midwifery Studies.
* Registered Midwife, current on the NMC register.
* Completion of preceptorship.
