We are seeking a friendly, professional, and customer-focused Receptionist to join our Sports Centre team on a bank (casual) basis. This role is ideal for someone with strong customer service skills who enjoys working in a busy, public-facing environment.
There will be a requirement to work evenings and weekends.
About the Role
As the first point of contact for visitors and members, you will play a key role in delivering an excellent customer experience and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the Sports Centre.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Welcoming visitors and members, creating a warm and professional first impression
2. Answering phone and email enquiries and providing accurate information
3. Managing bookings using the leisure booking system
4. Supporting children’s parties, including confirmation calls and on-the-day coordination
5. Processing cash and card payments and completing end-of-shift cash-up duties
6. Assisting with memberships, renewals, and cancellations
7. Handling customer queries and complaints promptly and professionally
8. Carrying out general administrative tasks and maintaining a clean reception area
What We’re Looking For:
9. Previous experience in a customer-facing role (essential)
10. Proven verbal and written communication skills
11. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
12. Confidence using IT systems, including Microsoft Office
13. A positive, professional, and reliable approach to work
14. The ability to work independently and as part of a team
15. Experience in a receptionist or leisure environment is desirable but not essential.
