Specialist Production Assistant Job description Gateshead £23,729 per year 35 hours per week Permanent An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Assistant to join our busy site in Gateshead, supporting our Specialist Production Team. This team is responsible for producing a wide range of accessible format documents, including large print, braille and audio publications. What you'll be doing Reporting to the Specialist Production Print/Audio Lead, your key responsibilities will include: Producing a variety of accessible format products, including braille, audio, and large print. Completing allocated production tasks in line with agreed schedules and deadlines. Working with speed and accuracy while maintaining high quality standards. Packing goods for dispatch in line with packing and shipping procedures. Operating production line equipment such as commercial printers and packing machinery. Maintaining a clean and safe working environment, including basic maintenance of equipment. Experience of operating machinery, equipment, or production software. Previous experience in a customer-facing environment. Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, building strong and supportive relationships with colleagues. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage your time, prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple responsibilities. A proactive approach to improving operational processes and contributing ideas that enhance the customer experience. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with colleagues at all levels and external stakeholders.
