About the role Reporting to the Accounts Manager, your responsibilities will include: * Managing a range of accounting tasks such as invoice processing, reconciliations, VAT returns, prepayments, accruals, and profit and loss analysis, while supporting month-end and year-end close activities. * Performing cash allocations and bank reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy of all financial records. * Processing bi-weekly payroll, including commissions and adjustments; managing pension contributions and submitting statutory reports. * Using Sage 50, Excel, Outlook, and Word to maintain financial documents, databases, and supplier records. * Handling general administrative tasks including photocopying, archiving, and document preparation; ensuring filing systems remain organised and compliant. * Communicating with internal teams and external partners to resolve queries and maintain smooth daily operations. Personal Profile We’re looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Accounts Technician to join our client’s growing finance team. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills, a proactive mindset, and a collaborative spirit to support the financial operations during an exciting phase of expansion. The ideal candidate will have: * Hold (or be working towards) an AAT Level 4 qualification. * Demonstrate strong experience in day-to-day accounting tasks such as processing invoices, bank reconciliations, VAT returns, payroll, and monthly accounts preparation. * Be proficient in accounting software (particularly Sage 50) and Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and Outlook. * Possess a positive, can-do attitude and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. * Be solutions-focused, with a keen eye for accuracy and process improvement. * Thrive in a team-oriented culture while also working independently to meet deadlines. * Communicate effectively with colleagues and external contacts to resolve issues and maintain smooth operations.
