About the Role
We are looking for a Graduate / Junior Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join a growing team based in North Bristol. This role offers the opportunity to support the delivery of mechanical design solutions across a range of projects, including both new build and refurbishment schemes.
Working alongside experienced engineers, you will gain hands-on exposure across all RIBA stages, supporting the development of sustainable and energy-efficient building services designs. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with 1–2 years’ experience who is looking to build a long-term career within building services engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Support mechanical design across RIBA stages under senior guidance
Assist in developing sustainable and low-carbon engineering solutions
Work collaboratively with architects, engineers, and contractors
Support site surveys, inspections, and data collection
Assist in the production of technical drawings and reports
Support installation, commissioning, and project delivery activities
Ensure compliance with health & safety and regulatory standards
About You
You will have a foundation in mechanical or building services engineering, with some practical exposure to projects (either through work or placements). You will be keen to learn, develop technically, and progress within a structured environment.
You will also have:
Basic understanding of building services systems (HVAC, heating, ventilation, pipework)
Awareness of RIBA work stages
Good communication and teamwork skills
A proactive and problem-solving mindset
Interest in sustainable and energy-efficient design
Technical Requirements
Degree, HND or HNC in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
Exposure to AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), or similar software (desirable)
Awareness of tools such as IESVE (desirable)
Working towards CIBSE membership (desirable)
