Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Creative Pattern Cutter at Miss Sohee
The Senior Creative Pattern Cutter will be responsible for creating and cutting patterns for bespoke design, collaborating with the designer, and ensuring high-quality craftsmanship.
We are looking for someone with five to seven years’ experience of working in a similar Haute Couture Atelier who can confidently perform the key duties and responsibilities required.
We are an ever-expanding team and encourage all our team member to progress, work on new projects and build on their skills.
Duties and responsibilities
* To follow working notes and drawings / instructions relating to the manual creation of patterns.
* Have excellent interpretation skills from design to pattern, including scale and proportions.
* Pad a stand to base on clients’ measurement and create patterns following design illustration.
* Advanced draping skills and create patterns on stand.
* Be confident in creating corsets for our bespoke clients.
* Working closely with Head of Atelier to manage projects and deadlines.
* To be able to use own initiative, manage and organise their own workload to ensure each assigned project or task is completed within the agreed timescales.
* To be highly organised with excellent communication skills.
* During project handover raise any questions and concerns to the Head of Atelier ensuring maximum productivity.
Essential skills and qualifications
* Advanced knowledge in construction methods.
* To be passionate, enthusiastic and be willing to learn.
* Minimum of 5-7 years' experience as creative pattern cutter.
* Excellent finishing skills and great attention to detail.
* Advanced knowledge of working with couture fabrics and techniques.
* Experienced in drafting patterns for corsetry to manipulate the body.
* Good time-management skills, including the ability to turn work around quickly.
* Accustomed to working to tight deadlines and being able to multitask across changing priorities.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Be involved in fittings when necessary to help fit the garments you are responsible for
* Flexible, hardworking and organised with a positive and constructive attitude.
* The ability to remain calm under pressure.
Hours and environment
Your normal working week will be 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday with a 30-minute lunch break. You will be asked to work additional hours paid at the agreed rate of contract. You will be working in a shared studio space with access to free parking dependent on availability.
The successful candidate will have prior experience in pattern cutting, be immediately available and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
