If so, a Technician role within our Woking Distribution and Plant team could be ideal for you.
We are recruiting 3 Technicians for our established team at Woking Depot. We welcome applicants with varying levels of experience in Mechanical and/or Electrical disciplines. The role involves shift work, including nights and weekends, which you must be able to commit to. We offer a competitive salary, overtime, a pension, and generous annual leave.
As a Technician, you'll perform maintenance and fault diagnosis outdoors in all weather conditions, supporting the upkeep of the rail network to ensure safety and efficiency. You will also develop management skills by deputising for the Team Leader.
Our Technicians come from diverse backgrounds, and previous rail experience is not necessary. We focus on transferable skills and behaviors, providing comprehensive training to ensure safety and competence on the network.

About the role
Technicians act as a vital link between the Team Leader and Operatives, specializing in Distribution & Plant. You will work to keep power flowing through electrified rails, maintaining the cables, nuts, and bolts of the electrification system to ensure trains, signals, and stations operate smoothly.
Working outdoors in all conditions, you'll perform manual tasks, often transporting equipment across challenging terrain. Safety, teamwork, and adherence to rules are critical, especially when working near moving trains at high speed.
Key qualities
A natural team player, capable of leading when necessary, with strong communication skills, technical knowledge, safety awareness, problem-solving abilities, and a willingness to learn. Relevant qualifications include NVQ Level 1 or 2, or equivalent experience.

* Shift patterns include days, nights, and weekends.
* Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
* Employment is subject to drug and alcohol testing, medical assessments, and a valid driving license (category B).
* Must be within a 60-minute commute of the location.
