The Role
Based at Head Office, you will report to the Tax & Treasury Accountant. This is a newly created position within the Financial Control and Compliance Team, forming part of a centre of expertise in the organisation.
You’ll support the Tax & Treasury Accountant in managing investments and cashflows, submitting tax returns, overseeing treasury and banking operations, and providing expert advice when required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee day-to-day banking and treasury functions
* Manage funds held in the bank and investment accounts
* Prepare monthly VAT returns for the Group, ensuring full compliance
* Produce monthly cashflows and forecasts
* Perform reconciliations, including investment funds for the organisation and its subsidiaries
* Provide expert advice to identify potential tax savings and opportunities
* Offer guidance on global tax legislation and compliance
* Ensure compliance with Overseas and Global Taxation rules, liaising with HMRC and other relevant bodies
* Collate data for year-end tax returns
* Support preparation of pension returns
* Administer Endowments and Trust Funds
* Liaise with internal and external auditors as required
* Represent the organisation at external forums
* Collaborate with operational teams and senior managers to ensure finance is integrated into strategic planning and decision-making
Who We’re Looking For:
* AAT qualified or early-stage ACCA student
* Self-motivated and working towards becoming a qualified accountant
* Ambitious with a desire to learn and grow within the organisation
* Proven experience in finance, ideally within tax and treasury functions
* Business-focused, with a problem-solving mindset
* Experience preparing VAT returns and cashflow reporting (essential)
