Job Title: Multi-Skilled Engineer (Air Conditioning & HVAC)
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer with a strong bias towards air conditioning and HVAC systems to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing a wide range of building services and equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on air conditioning systems (split units, VRV/VRF, chillers, AHUs, etc.).
* Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and replacing filters, and maintain accurate records.
* Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues and make necessary repairs.
* Monitor and maintain BMS systems to ensure optimal performance of HVAC controls.
* Ensure compliance with F-Gas regulations and maintain service records.
* Liaise with contractors and suppliers for specialist works.
* Respond to emergency breakdowns and participate in an on-call rota if required.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and energy efficiency projects.
* Produce detailed technical quotations, including parts and labor costs, to ensure profitability and client satisfaction.
* Maintain compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
* Work flexible hours to meet business needs.
* Escalate issues promptly to Supervisors or Contract Managers.
* Collaborate effectively with team members and liaise with subcontractors and engineers from other disciplines to ensure smooth operation of plant and equipment.
Skills and Experience
* Proven experience in HVAC maintenance and fault finding.
* Additional skills in electrical or mechanical engineering (e.g., 18th Edition, plumbing).
* Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to operate SMART devices and complete electronic documentation.
* Extensive fault-finding experience on traditional and modern plant equipment.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 2 in Air Conditioning.
* FGAS Category 1 certification.
* Electrical qualifications (beneficial).
* Valid UK driving license.
* Ability to pass contract-specific vetting, including financial and employment background checks.
* Manufacturer-specific courses or knowledge.
