A leading manufacturing and engineeringpany with an excellent reputation within their field is seeking an experienced Procurement & Supply Chain expert to join their growing team in Stockport. Due to a significant increase in workbook orders, this is a brand-new role and a great opportunity to join the business through an exciting period of sustained growth.
Your new role
As Procurement and Supplier Development Lead, your main role will be to improve thepany's supply chain resilience and capabilities. Through strategic supplier relationship management, you will work closely with suppliers to ensure that they have sufficient capability and materials to fulfil customer orders with minimal delay, whilst mitigating risk. In this role, you will work with internal stakeholders such as Senior Buyers andmodity Managers to gain a detailed understanding of their material requirements in order to meet customer demand. You will be responsible for the development of supply chain readiness and supplier engagement to ensure sustainable growth within the supply base which ultimately will ensure that thepany has enough materials and supply chain resilience to meet production capacity.
This will entail conducting detailed supplier evaluations and risk assessments which will define procurement strategies across the wider sourcing team with a view to ensuring a secure and stable supply chain.
What you'll need to succeed
1. A strong Procurement & Supply Chain background gained within an engineering / manufacturing enviornment
2. Proven experience in a similar role where you have had to ensure a robust and secure supply chain through effective management of suppliers
3. Strong understanding of working within a production environment – machine operating hours and capabilities, the impact of downtime etc
4. Good data analysis skills
5. Excellentmunication skills with stakeholders of all levels of seniority
